Aydin Kudu: Biography

MERHABA,

Hello to all real travelers who are searching to add another exciting country to their repertory.

I am a graduate of Linguistics and have been working as a guide in Turkey since 1987. I live in Istanbul, one of the truly most amazing cities in the world and spend most of my time in the countryside of Turkey conducting many varieties or tours and finding out new areas to benefit in future travels. I believe learning experience never ends.

One of the key points to success in guiding is to be able see things through the eyes of travelers, therefore I spend at least three months every year to travel myself both in Turkey and abroad. My travels so far in all over Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, Indian Continent and Himalayas, South America, USA and Greece have taught me a lot to share with fellow travelers.

I started my connection with other travelers early at secondary school years trying to practice my self-taught English in a remote, but most beautiful Black Sea countryside in Turkey. I would go and talk to them, take them to the off-the-beaten tracks, and invite them home to stay with my family for a few days. You can expect the whole family and village depending on me in our strange but funny communication. This way I started making many friends to enhance my world of imagination of other cultures.

Then one day I met a cyclist who was riding his custom-made bike from Geneva to Katmandu. He was our guest for a week and after having wonderful time altogether he decided to continue his travel without the bike and headed to Asia with his backpack. So I was left with a two-wheel world! A new life would begin for me. I spent the following summers with cross-country biking all over Turkey, sometimes disguised as a foreigner on purpose only to find out local Turks' attitude towards people from other countries. At the end of my travels this way, hosted by villagers, shepherds, teachers, farmers I was assured sure that this land and people of Turkey, Anatolia is worth to be known by the rest of the world. Therefore as soon as I finalized my university studies I found myself organizing and conducting tours of much variety to every corner of this lovely country.
